January: Shelf-Care is super important!

This month's theme is 'Shelf-Care'. 

I think shelf-care is something I haven't really thought about before this year. I follow a lot of bookish people on social media and I really enjoy seeing what they're reading and what they recommend to add to my TBR. However, when the end of the year Goodreads/Storygraph (or whatever bookish app you use) reviews are shared online for everyone to see, I can't help but compare myself as a reader to others. Now this is where the 'shelf-care' comes in. I can either feel bad that I didn't hit my reading goal (which I didn't) or I can look at back at the books I read in 2024 and be happy that I read 70 books in the first place! It's a mindset thing!

I have lowered my goal on my apps this year to one book a week. I would like to exceed it though! But the pressure it off...

I'm going to take my shelf-care seriously and take my time to pick the books I want to read!
